THE RACKET : LIST 3 - Keep It All Moving

We've been thinking about why we wanted to do these playlists. And aside from the fact that somewhere in our DNA is this obsessive need to not only consume media, but to then share that media, it's because playlists are like little stories.

Soundtracks to narratives that'll never exist. 

We wander around in our daily lives with our headphones crammed in our ears, blasting whatever it is we might be blasting, and the songs turn into chapters or scenes. In our heads we move these scenes around to create short story, maybe one that has a brash opening that knocks you on your heels but then settles into a quieter, smoother groove, letting you breath while it builds to its booming climax. Or maybe it starts small and intimate - two people in a single room - and just slow rolls down the hill, picking up characters and momentum, until it's a hurtling at reckless speeds into a real dust-up of a conclusion. Or maybe it just starts sexy and moves into more sexy and continues to be sexy until everyone's a drippy puddle on the living room floor. 

But yeah, playlists or stories, they're pretty much the same to us, we're just using a different format.

This go around we've kicked it off fast before slowing it down to somewhere between sultry and sad and then turning the corner into a stranger, darker place with a little pep just to keep it all moving.
