THE RACKET : X-MAS - The Tiniest Bit Brighter

It 'tis a day of the year that many around the world call a holiday.

And that many does (for reasons entirely unrelated to the origin story of a superhero baby trying to make his place in the world in the shadow of his father's legacy) include myself. 

I hope all of you out there in this often times bleak world are putting the travesties of global politics and climate change and familial drama and everything else on the shelf for a few minutes today to just look around and be happy for whatever is that might make you so. We hope, beyond just about anything that you are with people you love, or doing something you love or feeling loved or if none of these gooey sentiments apply to you today, knowing somewhere in the deepest backs of your mind that even when the light seems the very, very dimmest, when you have to squint your eyes just to see the path forward, that there is love in the world and someday you will find it or it will find you and things will look even the tiniest bit brighter.

A holiday playlist can be a tightrope to make as one wants to hit the highlights of the season while not just rolling out the dusty standards. I hope this list, a little gift to you today, falls somewhere in between. Drop it on the sound system at a holiday cocktail gathering, play it loud while you're decorating whatever it is you might decorate, or just you know, put it in your headphones and tap into the holiday spirit.
